We've added a couple of new sections to map Tampa Bay area boat ramps and local restaurants that are accessible by boat. Both sections are very new so we will be adding data and refining the pages regularly for awhile. There's room in the data base for images, reviews, and comments for both sections but our first task is to make sure that we have a reliable and reasonably comprehensive listing for both.
 In that vain, if you know of a local boat ramp or area restaurant that has temporary docking available we would appreciate your time in letting us know in the general disussion area of the forum or by posting a comment here. If you're suggesting a ramp we'd just need the ability to find it on search engines by the name or address. With the restaurants we would need specific information on the location by boat, and a good idea of what the menu is or a link to thier site where I might find the same information.
For the boat ramps, just zoom into your area and click on the blue TBC icon for an informational window with driving directions and any comments that have been added. For the restaurants you may do the same or select the restaurant name from the scrolling pane to the right. We expect to have general directions by boat for all of the restaurants listed to help you find them from on the water.
 We decided to use Google Maps because it is the dominant mapping platform on the web. Quite honestly, Yahoo Maps were easier to implement and update and MSN has come out with their version of mapping which could be better yet. We went with Google though because we thought our visitors would be most familar with the functions.
We will be adding detailed instructions on utilizing Google Maps on your web pages but in the interim we encourage you to visit their information and instructional page on using the Google Maps API.
If you have any suggestions as to how the technology might best be utilized on our site please don't hesitate to let us know. Also, if you have specific information on boat ramps or area restaurants with sevices for boaters we would appreciate that information as well.
