Central and Northeast St. Petersburg residents have three public ramps in their area ranging from Demens Landing, off of First Ave. South and Crisp Park off 35th Ave. NE. Our reviews of the ramps are below, with general comments at the bottom. If you're heading North on Bayshore Blvd. in downtown St. Petersburg (around the Mahafey Thearter) take the right into Demens Landing and your first left to head to the public boat ramps. Follow the road as it winds around to the left and you'll see the boat ramps on the left just past the reserved parking for trailers and for the ships store.
The ramps are available 24 hours a day except for special events like the St. Petersburg Grand Prix. There are two ramps available for boaters and both have a nice incline so launching bigger boats shouldn't be an issue. Demens landing has 11 spots reserved for vehicles with trailers. It wasn't an issue on the day that I visited but can't imagine that it wouldn't be on busier weekends.
The ships store offers a limited variety of tackle and frozen bait and is open from 7:30 to 5:00 seven days a week. There is fuel available at the docks but didn't see a notation as to whether it was ethanol free.
The Demens Landing boat ramps are definitely the best of the lot for central/Northeast area boaters who have a deeper draft vessel. They are very well maintained and there are park staff on site 24 hours a day so your vehicle should be safe while you're out on the water.

The Coffee Pot Bayou boat ramp is located in Coffe Pot Bayou Park in Northeast St. Petersburg. If you're heading North on 1st St. you'll find the park directly adjacent to 31st St. NE.
There is only one ramp at the park and it does not appear suitable for launching anything other than a kayak, canoe, gheenoe, or a jon boat. The ramp has a very small slope and the water at the base of the ramp was very shallow. Add to that, there are mangroves directly to the South that would restrict larger vessels and there is not docking available next to the ramp.
If you are launching a jon boat or smaller it may be perfect for you. There are a few parking spaces reserved for vehicles with trailers and there is an area, and water available, so that you may rinse of your boat before heading home.

If you're heading North on 1st St. NE, take a right on 35th Ave. NE and go straight down until it dead ends on Poplar St. NE. A quick left and an immediate right will put you at the entrance to the boat ramps.
Crisp Park offers two boat ramps to area boat owners and both appear to be reasonably well maintained with a pretty steep slope for boaters with larger vessels. There was plenty of parking around both sides of both ramps so except for busy weekends parking should not be an isssue if you arrive early.
I didn't see any signs restricting the hours for which the park is open but will edit this if/when I find there are any restrictions.
In speaking to one of the boaters just coming in he recommended the South side ramp for launching as when the tide is out the one on the North can be difficult to launch as it gets pretty shallow. He indicated that the opposite would be the case when taking out as there is a large drop off immediately after the paved surface of the Southside ramp that can making pulling your wheels out very difficult.
