I've been playing around a bit with the forum format overall and decided to lighten it up some so it wouldn't contrast the rest of the site so much. I also couldn't stand looking at that tarpon image anymore so I put up a picture of a family I took while out one day.

Thought I might take a couple each time out, when I'm with the camera, and add a random image to the header... Let me know if you have any suggestions.

I don't like it as much. I had to look at it a few times to make sure that I was in the right place. I never really looked around your site too much so you might be right but a little more of something would be good.

I didn't care for the tarpon picture either. I think it looks better with something like this. How about having it be member pictures?

Thanks for the feedback, I like the idea of using members in the header but I think we've got to get a few regulars first (smiley here). With the colors, maybe... I'll try a few things and maybe post a couple but I kinda like it simple & light though.
