After reading the Frank Sargents article on Snapper & Sheepheads, I was wondering if you run the braided line to the sinker with a three way swivel about 1 foot up with an 24" flourocarbon to hook set, I was just trying to figure out the rig set up ? maybe a loop knot ? , Help -Guilt Trip

Gotta agree with you there, it sure isn't clear from the article. He talks about having the hook in line with the rod tip and the sinker below it. Personally, I've always used a knocker rig for sheepshead with a small circle hook and cut shrimp and have caught my fair share of mangos on it while looking for sheeps.

I looked at his articles section and it appears pretty fowled up at the moment (it's only showing articles from 10/28 and previous) but when the article is displayed again I'll try to figure out how to add a comment or contact him.

It's a good question and is certainly not clear in the article.

Thanks for the question and maybe someone else will chime in in the interim. The quote below is from the article.

"The trick in feeling the bite, with either species, is to use plenty of lead weight, but put it below the hook. The big sinker gets your bait on bottom immediately, even in current, and then you can tighten up and feel the bite because the hook is in a direct line with your rod tip."
