| I headed out to a favorite sheepshead spot of mine which is Blindpass Bridge between T.I. and St Pete Beach. I had plenty of bait with Frozen fiddlers and frozen sand fleas that I got at mastry's Tackle for winning the contest. I also got some oysters under my grandfather's dock who lives on the intercoastal. He came along for the fishing trip. The winds were blowing pretty hard, but we got anchored up my favorite spot. We got a couple quick fish in the boat with oysters. We then had to anchor up again as the tide switched around. We moved around a few different times under the bridge. There was a ton of pin fish, so if you did not get a sheephead on quick your bait was gone! We tried the fiddlers and sand fleas because they would stay on better, but the sheepshead wanted nothing to do with these baits. We ended up getting 8 keepers in about 2 1/2 hours. A couple that were in the 17 inch range. We had to throw back about five that were not big enough. The bite was steady. We also got broke off a few times which is expected when fishing for sheepshead..I am sure this bridge will be good fishing for sheephead for the next six weeks...
Don't forget your scrapper!!!
