We had the first annual family challenge at Maximo Park on Saturday. Boys vs. girls in fishing, frisbee golf and an obastacle course. It ended up a tie and there were no "melt downs" until the very end.. (it's a long story about a short tie break) but it ended up in a tie. Fishing was a tie (three fish apiece), the frisbee golf went to the girls and the obstacle coarse to the guys.

The fishing was... each team had 1/2 hour from the time that we left the dock and we agreed to stop at the first sign of fish. Ended up anchoring just off the channel for both about 10 min out. Both teams used the same poles and the same bait, gulp on a jig head.

Final toll... Elora: 1 Lizard, 2 Pins, Katie: 1 Pin, Connor: 2 Pins, Jared: 1 Red

It was really fun... and I had no idea that you could catch pins that small on a gulp with a jig head. (smiley here)

Pinfish

That looks like fun but I think you must have taken those pinfish from the baitwell. They're smaller than the jigs.

If you'd work yours a little harder... you might be surprised at what you come up with. (smiley here)
