Figured I would post the report to go along with these sweet snook and some people have asked where they went to so here they are again.

Kevin had shot me an email after seeing my multi slam report saying he wanted to get on some reds.So we set a date for the charter and looked forward to the trip.He seemed like a pretty cool guy especially since he said it would only be us and that he would like me to fish with him(cool offer). So I said that would be cool and I would wet a line but I was still going to cater to him

since it was still a charter.Well we meet up at the dock and go get bait since he wanted to tag along for that and the bait was great and we got a mix.( a good thing at times)So off we go to look for some reds and I tell him I have a flat that has been holding reds and snook so on the way there I tell him there's an area near the flat that we are going to pass that has been holding snook and its to bad he is not after them.Well he says I wouldn't mind catching some snook and man am I glad he said that because that was the best decision of the day.We set up for the snook and the water is just dead and with no hits I get on the trolling motor and start looking for some. The water being a little murky I did not see the beasts till we were to close and they spooked but headed in the direction of where we were just fishing. So I slow trolled back over there and we see the fish.So I back off and set anchor and start chumming to try to turn these beasts on and after a little while Kevin's bait get hit and its a monster at first he did not realize how big until it came up a second time and now we are stoked. He starts to say I don't want to tell you and I am like what don't tell me you have a nick in your leader or something(his own gear) he says no I am like tell me so I know are situation in case I can help.He tells me I only have 25lb leader. So I pull anchor and start to troll him away from the structure and then there's a crab trap in front of me so I stay in the middle away from both.Well the fish starts to run for the crab trap so I floor the trolling motor to get between the fish and the trap and throw it in full reverse to make all kinds of noise and it works the fish turns and runs the other direction shortly there after we land this beautiful 43 inch snook.

So after the picture we revive her and she swims off strong, some high fives and I set back up.Kevin tells me to try for one well he didn't have to say that twice. We are both sitting there with baits in the water and all of a sudden my rod goes off and its like a freight train and the drag is screaming and I tell him its another one and he's like your kidding me and I say nope its another bad boy(girl) Kevin helps land the fish we get a pic and measurements( A 40 incher ) revive her and she's on her way and the high fives go off.I had joked with Kevin and said to him that we needed four of those when he caught his first one and now I started to think this could happen. Here's mine

Then with all the commotion from the two fish the bite turned off so I said lets hit the flat and see if the reds are home.Just as we start to get onto the flat I see to large snook that felt our presence and started to move and split up so I kept an eye on the fish going shallow and pointed to the fish Kevin sees it and makes a beautiful cast that leads the fish just enough and we watch this SNOOK follow the bait onto the sand in the shallows and we see it take the white bait.Kevin wait for a second and does a perfect hook set and the fight is on.Within a short period of time Kevin has her boat side and she tapes out at 39 inches man what a morning. All these over sized snook were caught on 25-30lb leader and 10lb test braid.Kevin did a great job fighting these fish to the boat on such light tackle.

Then he decides he wants to look for reds so that is what we do.I take him to some areas that hold reds(all Gandy area not Weedon) but no schools are to be found here but the weekend d boat traffic may have killed it.I do spot some Singles and doubles but they did not take Any of our offering, so we troll back across the flat to the area we were and see some more monster snook right in the sand next to the grass and there's 4 of them one bigger then the next but this time no takers so I ask Kevin if he wants to fish Weedon and he says yes so we leave the land of extra large snook to go find some reds and snook at weedon. We get there and troll in and I set up and we start getting some snook and Kevin pays me the compliment that I fish with a different technique then what he is used to but likes the results so that was cool for me.Then we make the move and the next spot nothing is really happening but I see some current happening from the wind blowing between a cut in the mangroves and I say we need to go check that out and that payed off with several nice fish including this nice red.

Tried some grey scale but I think I like the color better

What a great report, pics and... man those are some pigs! That had to be an absolute ball on 10lb test.

Way to go captain and thanks for the great report!
