Well it is that time of year and life is good once again. I have loved the scallop season for many years. It is a time for family fun and jumping in the Gulf for a change of pace. This year is no different and it started today with a bang. We met up with Mookie , Jay and Pete around 7am and headed to the north to find these shells full of joy.
Once we got to the ramp it was only a short ride out to the grass flats. The day was mild and the scallops were there waiting just for us. So with fins, masks and tanks we jumped over the sides and started looking for the shell fish. The water was clear and the sea grass waved in the current. We made two stops and filled a 5 gal. bucket to the top. Pete , Jay and Mookie were all new to this summer fun. But it did not slow them down a bit.
After we found our fill of scallops. We headed out a few miles the do some fishing. We caught grouper , grunts and StowawayBoy got a cobia. It was fun to put a few in the box to go with the shell fish we had. So check out my show. There is a ton of underwater footage for your enjoyment.
