| Well fall has arrived and along with fall comes some of the best fishing of the year. As you can tell by the pictures this is no lie. Its like something flips a switches and everything comes to life with a big appetite. I'll start with our best bite, the Red Fish. This time of the year is truly one of the best times of the year to get on a great bite of these fish. You can find yourself in the middle of just a few fish or a few hundred fish this time of year and when they decide it's time to eat there no other way to describe it other than amazing. Some describe it as shooting fish in a barrel, as these great fish swarm the boat with one thing in mind EATING! These fish have typically been running from 22 inches(great eating size) to big bull redfish up to 34 inches. With double and triple hookups its not long before there are tired arms on the boat with great big smiles. Along with the redfish in the same areas most of the time we have been catching a mixed bag of other great fish such as mangrove snapper, flounder and trout. When you those these fish in the mix you have some of the best eating fish our waters have to offer. The Snook bite has been a little slower but will be on the rise as these fish start to pull of the beaches and begin to get ready for winter. They will start making there way back into the bays and the river to pack on the pounds before the cold weather breaks as these fish are the most susceptible to the effects of cold water. the fish we have typically been catching the last few trips range from 18 inches to 26 inches, but larger size fish numbers will be on the rise. The best of the rest, Tarpon are still in the area and can be targeted still with good success. Grouper are invading the bay!! Lots of these fish are around the bay from the grass flats to small rock piles throughout the bay. There are a lot of just short fish on the grass flats which will shock you as they pull harder than most pound for pound, but there are keeper fish to be had if you can keep them out of the rocks. Then finally we'll finish with the Mackerel, these toothy little critters put on a great fight and once your in a school, with a little chum you can have none stop action. Well folks if your ready to make a break in your daily routine or just get the kids out for a day of bonding, give me a call and lets go fishing!! www.FishingEscapeCharters.com ----- http://www.FishingEscapeCharters.com |
