I talked with my brother on Christmas and asked him if he wanted to get out and get on some fish.Of course he was game since he had not been fishing since the last time I took him out.Well we set out in the  morning to go map out some areas while the tide was low, while keeping an eye out for bait.I definitely was able to get a mixture of bait from ballyhoo,pinfish,anchovies and some sweet scaled sardines 3-4.5 inches.The ballyhoo were in 5-6 feet of water over grass along with some pinfish.The anchovies were around bridge pilings in 6-8 feet of water and the scaled sardines can be found in 15-20 feet of water near bridges and grass flats.We played around in the bay for a little while while waiting for the tide to turn and start coming in.Then we started scouting for some reds and snook and after a little exploring I found some fish that were real happy about the Christmas presents I brought them since the flats had no real amounts of bait on them.We had them frenzied up to the point that as soon as your bait hit the water you had a snook or red on.Then the ladyfish moved in and took over for a little while and were faster to get to the bait while we still caught some snook and reds.once the lady's left us it went back to a snook bite that was great and they really showed us their appreciation for bringing them gifts.We found the fish in 1.5 - 2 feet of water over dark grass.That water warms quicker and gets warmer then the surrounding area.Here is my brother with one of his fine catches.
