Headed out around 6:30 and was able to round up some bait after a good 20min of chumming in the flats around the point. Mostly medium sized white bait with a few small pinfish and a bunch of fry.

We made our way out to the beach hoping to hook up with a king or two. Dropped a chum block over some structure in about 25' of water and started tossing the bigger sardines. Caught a bunch of mackerel right away between 16" & 28", most on the bigger side.

We took one of the smaller mackerel and set it out on a stinger rig and dropped some cut bait (thawed shad) to the bottom. Didn't get anything on the stinger rig but ended up with three decent sized sharks from the cut bait on the bottom.

Dropped a pinfish to the bottom and pulled up a small gag. We kept fishing until we ran out of bait around 12:00 and decided to call it a day. We had planned on hitting a couple of spots a little further out but the action was solid all morning and didn't have much in the way of larger baits.

All told: 3 sharks, a short grouper, 15 spanish, 5-7 bluefish, and even a decent sized pompano. Not a bad day at all.
