This encounter occured last winter in 65 feet of water off Tarpon Springs. We were freediving for grouper on a ledge and saw what was my first ever leatherback turtle. He was HUGE.
As you can see in the video, he was NOT your everyday friendly loggerhead. At first we were just trying to get some footage of him then he started acting weird and began taking shots at us trying to bite us with that monster mouth. We ended up fending him off and yelling for the boat which was anchored pretty far away at that point. The bubble trail at the end is me kicking as fast as I could away from the beast.
