| I got a late night call from Micheal saying he and his fiance Melanie would like to go fishing. So the plans were made and they couldn't wait to go.After blacking out the live well, I was off to the ramp to pick up my guests. They were a nice young pleasant couple engaged to be married. They had never been saltwater fishing, so I told them snook was like bass on steroids. Our first stop was a deep whole with shallow flats around it that the fish would be in and then as the water warmed and the tide came in the fish would venture out onto the flat.I told them the bite would be slow at first and then things would heat up as the day went on with the best bite near the end of the trip.Micheal had asked me what he could expect and I told him about the 17 snook charter I had just done and he was stoked. Micheal had a few misses in the beginning with one coming unbuttoned but he knew they were starting to hit. After a little while with no hits I figured the fish may have already ventured out on to the flats, so I made a small move and it was the right one.Within a minute Micheal gets hammered the bait pops up to the surface and a seagull takes the bait out of the snooks clutches. So I assure Micheal with the water starting to boil from the snook starting to feed that it wouldn't be long and then it happened Melanie is hooked up and brings in her first snook. After a photo and release we get her back into the action with a well placed cast and BAM she is on again (the water is on fire) and lands her second snook and the razzing begins. After that Micheal hooks up and keeps this one glued to his line and gets his first snook. They both catch one more each and it is 3-2 Melanie is leading and in a fun way making sure we know it.At seven snook with Melanie in the lead and the bite slowing the tide was getting right for another area so off we went.First stop and I throw out some chummers.Within second the water is exploding in multiple spots at the same time and Micheal is hooked up and ties it up 4-4.Then they stayed even one for one and at twelve fish Melanie says lets beat your other charter that got 17 Snook and I said go for it.They did real good on landing their fish and made it to 17 fish and it was time to leave so I got the trusty bat out did a hale mary with the bait and they lit up.I casted for Melanie and put the bait right where the biggest hit was and in 2.1 seconds she had all she could handle tugging at the other end of the line. After a great fight and some coaching we land the beautiful gal and snap a photo.I say that's 18 your both tied up, lets go home. They agree and both say they had a great time and a little girly voice says ever so softly "Mine was biggest" I said Melanie you just couldn't wait to say it could you and we all laughed and called it a day. Tight lines everyone
Sorry about the blur
