Hi all,
Just bought a home in pinellas park and will be relocating in a few years.
We will be coming down often until then so I figure I had better start getting to know the area and reading as much as I can on the local fishing down there.
I fish both fresh and salt water up here and I'm sure I'll do the same in fla.
I look forward to reading all your posts and getting as much info as possible.
Hope to meet some of you on our visits down there.

Dave

Congrats on the new home and welcome to the forum!

Out of curiosity, where's "up here"?

Good to have you on board Dave.

Hey TBC,
Salt water I fish for striped bass, bluefish, fluke, and blackfish. Threr are also a lot of charters that target other species like tuna and cod.
In fresh water,I like to fish for trout and bass,my passion is ice fishing but I guess I'll have to develop a new passion!
I hear you have some great bass fishing down there and one of my hopes is to try tarpon fishing.
Thanx for replying!
Dave

"my passion is ice fishing but I guess I'll have to develop a new passion"

Ya think... that's one thing I have never understood. What in the world would make someone want to freeze their *$$ off sitting around a hole in the ice waiting for something to swim by.

I don't do any fresh water fishing anymore. I grew up in upstate NY and fished the lakes, rivers and streams but once I hit the salt air here I've never looked back.

About the Tarpon fishing, some of the best in the world around here and you'll either love it or hate it. I'm guessing it'll be the former.
