(192.85.50.12) | Hello-
I'm new to this site and new to fishing in Florida. I've been an avid angler all my life - i do a lot of trout fishing - maily steelhead and browns in the rivers and i'm an avid ice fisherman - probably get out 3 or 4 times a week during the season. I enjoy any kinda of fishing - walleye-northern pike- panfish- muskie-you name it - I also love to hunt- I do a lot of bow hunting and Blk Powder for whitetails and I love spring turkey hunting too. My family and i will be in St Pete for springbreak - flying in tomorrow - 4/8/09 - along with my wife-daughter and 9 year old son who's all ready an avid fisherman. I would like to get my son out fishing - any recommendations or ideas would be appreciated.
thanks

Location: Pinellas Point (24.92.176.79) | Welcome to the forum and it'll be good to have you on the sunny side. I just wonder if you'll be able to go back.
Where are you going to be in St. Pete area and what type of fishing would you like to do (from shore/bridge, wading, inshore charter, offshore charter, party boat, etc)? Here's a blog post about shore fishing in St. Pete Beach and the Spanish Mackerel are back around the Skyway but let us know what you're looking for and we'll try to give you something specific. Again, welcome to the forum and more importantly.... the sunny side!

(70.127.195.36) | It really depends on what you are after. Fort Desoto park and its fishing piers are a good choice. also St. Petersburg Pier has sheepshead, Mackerel and some snook. Need more info on what your after If you have any more questions feel free to ask ----- Capt. George Hastick
