The plan today was to start out w some mack action and then go catch a few snook. Aquaholic was coming in as we were leaving. I hadnt seen him in a while, so it was good to see an old friend. I ran out to some hard bottom at the 15 foot break in the bay. Macks were no where to be found but other things started coming over the rail. We never got a chance to go snook fishing. The same spot produced gags, mangos, trout, jacks, and we lost a few sharks.
We actually got 3 big gags, but 2 of them were right on the line so I threw them back. It was really a fun day w a variety of fish and some for the dinner table.
Gags were caught on freeline pinfish w 10 pound gear. They all hit hard and ran off drag horizontally during their fight never going to the bottom. I was very surprised when I saw they were gags. The big guy went 24 inches.
