Location: Palmetto/Bradenton | Well typically I dont have great expectations for charters I run on the weekends, but this weekend would prove me wrong. On Saturday I had 4 guys out for a bachelor party, and we got things started early with snook upto 26" and redfish 24" to 27". So with a few fish in the cooler the guys were smiling. Off for some trout fishing well along with some trout the guys were busy catching ladyfish, mackeral, and mangrove snapper. After that slowed a little we went to a shallow rocky area in the bay were we finished out our limit on snapper, and added some flounder, sea bass and were rocked numberous times by grouper. our final stop was a mangrove shoreline which produced snook for everyone, which was great as three of them had never caught one prior. Back at the dock I spent the next 45mins cleaning fish, listening to the laughter of these guys and talks of their next trip. On Sunday things started off pretty much the same two baits in two redfish back, it was a good feeling with fish ranging from 26" to 28". The fish seem to pretty much shut down after a little bit. So on to some trout fishing, now this was better than Saturday, it was non stop for 2 hours bait hits water trout from 14" to 20", Mackeral 18" to 24", Bluefish, or a ladyfish would come back. I was busy to say the least, baiting, rerigging, and unhooking fish, it was great! from here we went and reloaded the well after going through a blacked well of green backs, but after a couple cast of the net we were back in business. But with only a little bt of time left things seemed to really shut down and we worked to add a few more fish. Not sure if that front or the wind had anything to do with it, but it was tough. Luckily we had a great morning, and my client were full of laughs along with some good eats in the cooler. Well for photos and more details check out my website and I look forward to more great fishing in the upcoming weeks. ----- Capt. Dave Bouquin (941)705-1327
