The trout ,redfish and snook bite has really turned on in Tampa Bay.

With the cooler water temps this is just what I expected. 

Bait is still around so resorting to buying shrimp from the bait shop has not become an option yet.

On my last several trips in Oct. and Nov. we have been catching good numbers of Reds and Trout. The snook bite has not been bad either with fish in the 30" range being caught and released.

When fishing for the trout and reds I have been finding the deeper holes and cuts have produced well. Sometimes the fish are hitting the baits up top so I use a cork and other times a small split shot holds the bait closer to the bottom getting better results.

When snook fishing I have been fishing the higher out going tides around areas with flowing water.

My personal preference when snook fishing is to free line the bait. I feel this makes for the most natural presentation but is just not always possible.

When the baits is on the smaller side I resort to a weigted cork so i can get some distance on the cast.

The water clarity is getting really good so I can see down sizing leader size in the near future.

Now is a great time to get out on the water. The morning air is cool but the out side temps are warming up nicely making for a beautiful time on the water.
