My anglers today said they have chartered in this area 3 times and have never caught a legal sized Grouper. I told them that these fish were out of season for harvest. They said they did not want to keep them and asked if we could catch and release them on a 4 hour trip. So, off we went into the smoothest seas I have seen out here for the past 3 months. When we finally came off plane we were in 55 ft. of water. Found the little 2 ft. break I was looking for and put the anchor down. We used only frozen Sardines and had a great day out there. We fished a total of 3 spots today and the fish were chewin'.
We caught 9 Gag's that were over the 22" mark with about half of them over 24" along with countless shorts. We also had 4 Red Grouper in the 8-9 lb. class, and also a ton of shorts.
Another fun day on the water.
