Fishing so far this year has been tough and unpredictable  to say the least. That is all about to change.

On several of my trips this month speckeld trout was the only dependable bite and even they could throw you for a loop. One some trips as many a 30 to 40 fish were caught.

Constant cold fronts and high winds made for constant changes in fishing plans. My prediction is the fishing should reallly start turning on in the next couple of weeks.

Water temps should start rising and with this it should trigger a bite. There have been a lot of reports of schooling reds in Tampa Bay but most have been reluctant to eat.

I was on a school of over 100 fish recently and getting them to eat was impossible. I think with a little warmer water temp that is all going to change.

There have also been reports of large black drum schooling. I have not personaly been on them but I expect that to change also.

Snook still remain to be seen. I have seen a few in my travels but I dont expect gang buster numbers after our recent freeze's.

Tarpon season is  coming up so dont forget to book your Tarpon trip early to get the best date possible.
