I can't believe that I'd had an offense that would result in my IP being blocked but none the less...

Turns out it was an issue with their remote hosting and everyone was banned. TFF!

I've never understood that one. Talked to Mel about it a couple of times and he agreed, it makes absolutely no sense to have the forum hosted on a third party server on a database over which you don't have control.

Very true if you can afford the cost. I use a host but don't use their databases i created honey pots out of them. instead i use my local database with a complete ssl tunnel as not to go against my network providers user agreement. little slower but not to bad.
