Capt. Brian (Redfish Brian) And I had a four hour trip for seven people and three generations. The trip consisted of Pam and Mark their grandson Alex, along with their daughter Jen and her husband Jeff, Son Jared and girlfriend Brittany. Alex, Jared and Brittany were on Brian's boat and Pam, Mark, Jen and Jeff were on my boat. We decided to fish some areas that I haven't been in a little while but Brian had been fishing and doing well. The game plan was to fish for trout on the flats for the first couple of hours while we waited for the tide to get right for the snook area and then finish with a bang on snook. 11 yr old Alex on Brian's boat kicked it off with three trout right off the bat before all the lines were even out. Then Mark on my boat got a hot hand and started getting some nice trout. Then Pam's bait get boiled on and gets railed by a huge cobia and the drag is screaming bloody murder until the leader breaks but man what a rush for her on the flats pole. Now everyone has caught multiple fish on both boats trout and macks, except Jeff who can't buy a bite even with switching spots and poles no dice. So I am razzing him some but tell him not to worry that usually the guy not catching anything ends up catching one of the best fish. So I say maybe your just a snook kinda guy.

So we make the move and as we are motoring in two boats leaving the area say no dice just getting lady fish and jacks. Not good to hear but does not scare me cause that's them not us. Maybe they were not holding their pole right LOL.

Brittany hits the first snook and its a doozie 35 incher and those guys just left huh.( Brian should post pick when he sees this post) Now the bite is not on fire so we are chumming and making some moves. Then It starts to light up a little and I tell Jeff you have one and he doesn't believe me at first until he come tight then he had his hands full. A 29 incher and I told him that was going to happen (karma in a sense)

Jeff

Then Pam gets the hot hand at the front of the boat and catches three snook so I shift people around to give everyone a fair shot and what happens Pam gets one at the back of the boat, now she is Hot Hand Pam.

after this there were several misses by all. Meanwhile on Brian's boat the Little guy Alex had a large snook on but she came unglued but he had a great battle. then it was getting time to wrap it up so we called 10 minutes. I throw lively baits on all the line and some chummers out. Wham Mark gets nailed and its a good one. After a great fight he gets a beautiful 33" linesider to the boat.

Everyone on both boats caught fish and had a great time. Whitebait on 2/0 circle hooks with 30# Fluorocarbon leader and 10# moss green braid on 7'6" TFO ML rods was the set up.
