Went out on Nicks boat today looking for kings. We hit the ramps around 7:00 and headed out to about 40' out of Egmont and stopped a couple of time to sabiki bait on the way. Got a well full of good sized white bait (scaled sardines), some smaller white bait a few green backs (threadfins) and a few pins.

When we got there (about 40' maybe 6-8 mi. out off the shipping channel) we just started slow trolling the bigger white baits at different depths and distances; one in the prop wash, one way out there, one in in the middle when we could and one on a down rigger. We just kept the lines in as we could and changed rigs when we had to as it was pretty steady. Our first pass we had triples... but just two people and landed only one but figured then it might be a good day.

Within a couple of hours we had 4 kings and a few good sized macks in the icebox, missed a buch, cut off a few and released a couple so we tried another spot a couple of miles further out for grouper. Ancohord up and caught a bunch of shorts but nothing for the fishbox.

Tried cut bait, then pins, then sardines... nothing but the sardines brought up anything, none were big enough to take home and it was pushing 1:00 so we decided to call it a day.
