We're going to be trying to expand the forum sponsors program to include more local bait and tackles and didn't know if any of you had any suggestions. We get a lot of visitors but very few posts and we feel that by expanding the program it may make it more fun/rewarding for those in different areas.

Sponsors should be local suppliers not large discount chains and they should represent the community well. Their business name and contact information would be promoted here on the forum in exchange for the commitment to provide $50 in free tackle monthly if the fishing report winner comes from their area.

It's not a regular sponsorship so there would be no cost outside of the willingness to contribute the tackle in the event the winner chooses their store.

Let me know if you have any ideas before I go out and beat the bushes.

Thanks, Scott

Thanks for the suggestion, we'll give them a call or stop by. The idea is to have a shop in each area that would be willing to participate in an attempt to get visitors from that specific area to stop in.

Tarpon Springs, Tampa, Clearwater, Seminole, Madeira Beach, Treasure Island, St. Pete Beach, West/Central St. Pete, etc.

As it is now, most are excluded and if someone doesn't live near 4th St. N, or 4th St. S. it's quite a haul for them to pick up their stuff and not much chance for the sponsors to reach a new customer.

Thanks for the reference and if you'd PM me the owner's name and let him know I'll be making contact it would be appreciated.

Thanks Bassmaster and Shallowminded for recommending your favorite local bait and tackle stores! I stopped by Gulf to Bay in St. Pete Beach today. I left a card because the owner wasn't in. I also called Fishermen's World in Holiday and talked to Matt. He's going to check out the site and I'll get back with him at the end of next week.

Your suggestions are very appreciated and hopefully it will work out so that we have more of our area represented.

If anyone else has any recommendations please feel free to post. The only thing is that they have to be locally owned and operated (no chain stores or franchises) and we will only include one shop from each general area... so only the best please.

Please click here for more information on our forum sponsor promotion.

Thanks again, Scott
