Took my friend and his son for a morning redfish trip today. I figured with an approaching front, an incoming tide and a major feeding period all coming together at the same time...how could I miss? Glad I went with my gut.
After doing this to my bait net;
, we were off in search of our quary.
Spent about a half hour looking for the fish. Then, like its supposed to happen, there they were. Laid up, happy and hungry. I scattered a dozen or so chummers (figured I could spare it after the bait crushing I had done a little earlier) and it was ON. From the time the first bait hit the water until we left, it was non-stop. It was 3+ hours of solid redfish action! Every fish, with the exception of maybe two, was well over the slot. Most were in the 12-15 pound range. All this in 2 feet of water. Damn! Does it get any better than that?
Here's the fellas posing with one on the boat and another on the way:
One more pic (you get the idea though):
HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYBODY!
