| Took old Guilt Trip to Simmons Park boat ramp and started an afternoon scouting party of one, I was going to the Manatee shipping cannel on a rock hunt , didn't take long, rocks and stuff cover the bottom of both sides of channel, but while I was slowly working the edges I noticed an old pier/dock to the east side or some may say the north side of the channel, well something was having a lunch all around the pilings, being there on a scouting trip, I eased over there slid anchor down to match the drift and let rope out just inside of the NO Motor buoy, got my snapper rod and a jumbo shrimp on and lets see what's happing, great throw and it didn't take long to find out what was making all the noise, whiz-Bam, SNOOK! and I got spanked three times, who's counting, I'm not a Snook Man, but the pull is unbelievable, almost as much as those pilings. I being the kind of guy that likes a good tug stayed for the beating a while, and off I went to finish my scouting, I marked about 8-10 good looking spots for my next trip, snapper and grouper pulling expedition, Hopefully, Great Day to spend an afternoon, Later Guilt Trip | |

Location: Pinellas Point | Now that's a great scouting trip! Found what you were looking for and much more. More than a couple of good looking spots to work down the road and got hammered a few times. I took a class once with Captain Rick Frazier and one of his trademark sayings was... "It's all about the pull!". Nice job and thanks for taking the time to let us know. I'm interested to know what you end up finding on those rock piles. I've got a buddy who gets on the grouper regularly in that area but those numbers wouldn't leave his log at gun point. (smiley here)
