Well took old Guilt Trip for a Ride, started out of cockroach looking for bait. wow it's not summer, took a whole bucket of chum to net only about 1-2 dozen mixed bait and they were small , looks like they have moved out of town, I headed to the old broken down pier off piney point as you know where that is, Nada Nada, so as requested by my Expert guest we should drift the flats and cuts off in the roach area, Nada Nada again , I told my fishing buddy that the fish have took for cover early with this front coming in. My grouper and snapper plan got somehow changed with my guest since he was going to show me some tricks. Well I learned he can get skunked too, should have went for the snapper and grouper this time of year, But I new the fish were in the channels and mangos, Me with a bay boat (not skinny one). I was right when we returned to the ramp those who fished the back country and mangos did quite well, so "Fishermen Go Deep into The Woods" and you will catch, this time of year, Later Guilt Trip

Thanks for the report and sorry you didn't do better. We had a rough one too... looking for rock piles near Port Manatee. I've been thinking about it since your scouting post last week.

Ended up with a few shorts and a bunch of grunts but no keeper grouper and no snapper. I was surprised that we didn't see many boats out there today. It was like we had the bay to ourselves.

Saw a ton of smallish macks on the way there crashing huge schools of fry. Tossed a bucktail at em' for sport and they were all around a foot.
